Now Listening : Lady GaGa - The Fame Monster

Taken charts by storm Lady Gaga has certainly won the respect of the masses and why shouldn’t she? She wears synthetic cosmetics and attires with a daring fashion sense. She communicates a message or story about fame, being a monster and various fears. Leading the music genre of dance back with a aggressive stabbing revenge, like what Taylor swift did with country, Lady GaGa could may very well saved the dance floor/pop genre which is now re-emerging. Her music videos are creatively amazing, a talented artist and her bold melodies continue to grab our attention by staying interestingly addictive. My favourite picks from the new tracks are Bad Romance, Monster and Telephone featuring Beyonce.

Meanwhile in Federal Court : AFACT verse IINET

Whilst most of the Internet populace in Australia maybe un-aware but there is a legal battle that is been fought between the industry associations and one of the selected and most successful ISP in Australia in recent years Iinet. The battle for them (meaning ISP and the music and film industry) is over copyright infringement but what it means for the common consumer base is soon they seek to invade our freedom and rights on the way we use the internet. What it means for me, for you and for your associates is internet censorship is probably on the way if Iinet ultimately looses every bit of credibility in their opening , evidentiary and closing arguments. What scares me the most is the practices they would have to use to censor and monitor our use of internet would and may reflect if things turn for the worst the image of censorship that are in place following the ranks of China, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Where youtube is banned and certain entertainment prohibited from broadcasting for opposing the themes of the best interest of their country. People may think the dull debate over copyright infringement is old news but really this court case shows that it’s entirely and absolutely current news and from where things stand it is not looking well for other ISPs who will become the next targets. Even the IIA (internet industry associations) move to intervene with the case was almost immediately dismissed by the judge saying it has nothing new to add shows how compelling AFACT have been with bringing up this challenge. The case certainly seems in favour of the industry associations and if this battle is lost then all ISPs will have to hold responsibility on the data shared on their networks. The case has just been wrapped up in Sydneys Federal Court after 5 weeks of hearing, and now both sides are finishing their closing submissions, Iinet has revealed it has expended a $4 million hit during this legal ordeal and the Judge has said ‘I will endeavour to deliver a judgement as soon as possible’ ‘but it will not be this year’

One can view while this may only concerns the industries they have not considered the opinions of the mass consumers and the general impact it will have on the economic and telecommunications industry. Speaking on behalf of a very Asian establishment alone you can only imagine if monitoring and censorship for every content deemed illegal or a infringement of copyright defeats the sales of ‘high capacity plans’ for them. For the most part the ISPs will have to take responsibility of removing users infringing copyright, and its not hard to target which ones simply just by looking at the high end plans customers and establish a easy guess from there if they aren’t running a business with it.

Now Listening: Empire of the Sun

Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore, otherwise known as ‘Empire Of The Sun’, are an Australian indie-electro duo. Gaining mass radio play on every shore and feverishly tipped for 2009, Tom Sargeant decided to make a long distance call to their notoriously unpredictable front man, Luke.

Diablo 3: The Monk

This is a very nostalgic franchise for me, for it was one of the first PC games during my childhoods first PC, therefore it's one of the biggest titles for the PC i'll look forward to especailly how much promise Blizzard has promised to put in so much polish compared to the quick buck to make world of Warcraft. Compared to Blizzards World of Warcraft you could say this is the M15+ version in the themes department. Diablo draws from the very arcane and demonic culture of all things dark. Compared to Diablo, World of Warcraft is just a fairy land version. So enjoy the vids to ease the excruciating wait (sometime in 2011).

Now Listening: Mew

All pop stories start somewhere. Some start in bars, some in clubs, some in moshpits. For Mew, this particular story starts with the end of the world......

The end of the world on celluloid that is. Brought together at school whilst making a film on the destruction of nature, Jonas Bjerre, Bo Madsen, Johan Wohlert, and Silas Graae formed a friendship over the earth's demise that was destined to flourish. Although the end result was somewhat clumsy, the bond built on their shared interests in music and film was to lead to the creation of Mew.

MEW
From: Denmark

Here's a few samples

Evony diddle

Internet users, particularly ones who frequent IT , games and entertainment websites will have been forced to notice for quiet some time now ads for the online free to play game Evony.
A game that uses a lingerie model threads from being naked to advertise some sort of majestic medieval backdrop game. With phrases like 'Come play my lord' 'free forever' 'best web game' littered in its intrusive ads to lure gullible and unexpecting players only to have them realize this game is nothing but tip of the legal edge deceit. Firstly the female imagery used are taken from adult costume store www.costumecraze.com which sports a section on fantasy themes.. and wala you will see familiar models featured in the ads. 2nd the game itself does not feature female escorts or anything of the type because its is a rip of the successful civilization game. And the graphics are pulled from Ages of Empires. At the core of the gameplay pretty much everything in the game is obtained by paying instead of playing and still in some form a legal exploit. And who runs this game? A chinese 'businessman' Eric Lam, who himself have had a shady past. His records show he doesn't believe in honesty or hard work seeing how he had been running gold farms in the past, sued by microsoft for online advertising click fraud, and now he's introduced iEvony a application supposedly used to invite your friends into the game to get you free game coins. Truth is , its most likely a form of trojan that mines data and collects emails, msn cnotacts and address to spew out wads of spam to further his ambitions. As our current laws for cyber justice gets liberated and amended, it shouldn't be too long before a he is faced with a class action lawsuit right?

AVATAR (2009) simply amazing!

Yeh i know its been a while since my last update i blame everybodies excuse of time restraints and work.

It may have been a while since anyone heard of James Cameron doing anything of titanic proportions like Directing the movie masterpiece Titanic. In 1994 James wrote a script for Avatar. Since then variable copies of the script circulated around the internet until things were finally set in motion the script was removed. Several factors decided why the movie wasn't premade back then mainly on the technology James have wanted. The latest in advance 3d technology to direct using 3D virtual cameras, which would produce stereoscopic 3D images simulating human sight. And with the latest trailer it looks like its paid off and is most impressive.

Theme :
The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Na’vi, a sentient humanoid race that humans consider primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. Standing three meters tall, with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Na’vi live in harmony with their unspoiled world. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Na’vi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.

Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies that are controlled by a human "driver" through a technology that links the driver's mind to their Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri, whose beauty is only matched by her ferocity in battle.

Over time, Jake integrates himself into Neytiri's clan, and begins to fall in love with her. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

(James Cameron Quoted that)
"the Navi represent something that is our higher selves, or our aspirational selves, what we would like to think we are," and "the humans in the film, even though there are some good ones salted in, represent what we know to be the parts of ourselves that are trashing our world and maybe condemning ourselves to a grim future."

Personally i can't wait for this December as of late i haven't seem any good promising films for up-coming release. Even the fantasy book genre films have started to fade in interest for me. An original scripted story is what we need for a change. And James Cameron is a inspirational artist! yes i know talent when i see it!
